No one likes “Death by PowerPoint”

Hi there. I am glad you wanted to know a little more about me.

I am an engaging instructor with over 25 years of professional experience in curriculum development and implementation of psychoeducational and community risk reduction programs. I’ve spent 18 out of the last 25 years teaching within Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and honing my skills of communicating and connecting with first responders.

I understand the culture surrounding first responders in fire and emergency services and in law enforcement- the personalities, challenges of the job, the defensive and sometimes crass humor, and most importantly the kinesthetic learning style.   

My interactive instruction teaching style is learner-centered and designed around “knowing your audience.” My courses are professionally casual including lots of breaks, humor, hands-on activities, and open dialogue. Providing this type of instructional method allows participants, even the voluntold ones, to direct how they would like to learn and leave the class thinking, “Wow I wasn’t sure I wanted to be here, but I am glad I was.”
